Directions by car
The Grugapark is directly next to the Exhibition Centre site on the A52 (Rüttenscheid or Margarethenhöhe exit) and is signposted throughout the whole Essen area.

Environmental zones in the Ruhr region
Since 1 October 2008 new environmental zones have been set up on the basis of the clean air plan for the Ruhr region. Since this time access to these environmental zones is prohibited for vehicles which do not have an environment sticker. Essen has also been designated an environmental zone, which begins in the direct proximity to the Grugapark. The park itself as well as Norbertstraße at the Exhibition Centre, are not in this environmental zone but some other access roads are. For example, the Park can be reached from the A52 via Norbertstraße without an environmental sticker but not via Alfredstraße. This also applies to the car park at the Main Entrance.
